LIUNA & IUPAT Endorse Tim Keller for Mayor of Albuquerque
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Laborers’ International Union of North America Local 16 (LIUNA) and International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local 823 (IUPAT) have endorsed Tim Keller for Mayor of Albuquerque.
"LIUNA is endorsing Tim Keller for Mayor of Albuquerque because he is the only candidate who has the skills, qualifications and work ethic to improve this city's economy. With all the problems we are facing, we need someone like Tim who will get in the foxhole with local businesses and help us create new jobs. That is exactly what we expect Tim to do as our next mayor,” said LIUNA Local 16 Business Manager Jose V. Atencio, Jr.
“Tim Keller has a track record of supporting policies that benefit Albuquerque's local businesses and their workers,” said Robert Aubert, Business Representative of IUPAT Local 823. “We are proud to be endorsing Tim to be our city's next mayor, and we look forward to working side-by-side with him in that role to make Albuquerque’s economy a model that the rest of the nation can follow.”
Keller said it is important for the next Mayor of Albuquerque to give workers a voice for the city’s economy to rebound.
“Unions like LIUNA and IUPAT are essential to the city’s economic plans,” Keller said. “We must fight for workers’ rights and collaborate with local businesses to build an economy that works for all of us. I am grateful LIUNA and IUPAT trust me to take the concerns of Albuquerque’s families to City Hall.”
